Each month, WFPG will feature a new group of speakers to talk about their chosen career paths, how they got there, and any advice they have for someone interested in the industry. Whether you are a student with a heavy workload, a young professional navigating your new life, or an experienced employee who wants to revamp their resume, Career Pathways is the resource for you. Potential Career Pathway topics include foreign service, human rights, international development, journalism, public health, and more! Please join us each month at 3:30 PM to meet these impressive mentors and transform your career.

As women, it is essential to have others who uplift you in these fields, and WFPG’s Career Pathways are the beginning of finding the right mentor for you. Our mentors strive to help the next generation of women leaders succeed. Career Pathways are open to all WFPG members and we encourage our Student and Young Professionals Members to join.

Interested in attending Career Pathways, but not a member? No problem! We have a variety of different membership levels to fit your needs. As a WFPG member, not only are you invited to attend Career Pathways, but you also receive complimentary admission to all other in-person and virtual professional development and mentoring programs, such as our Mentor Minutes. Additionally, you will gain access to exclusive member experiences and opportunities.

Judith Morrison serves as a Senior Advisor at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in the Office of the Presidency, where she is responsible for leading analytical and development initiatives to fully incorporate marginalized communities in lending strategy and operations. Prior to joining the IDB she was the regional director for South America and Caribbean at the Inter-American Foundation (IAF), the executive director of the Inter-Agency Consultation in Latin America (a donor consortium established by the World Bank), and a program director at the Inter-American Dialogue. At the IAF she developed the first private sector eco-development fund in Brazil, and selected, analyzed, and monitored hundreds of partnerships in Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venezuela. She brokered millions of dollars in new development project resources from the private sector. Morrison has published articles on policy and has authored book chapters and articles for the popular press, the US Government, and the United Nations. Judith Morrison has been interviewed by the Boston Globe, Washington Post, Miami Herald, Folha de São Paulo, Radio France International, Línea Directa, Essence magazine, Latin American Advisor, and National Public Radio. She is a frequent contributor to the Conference on World Affairs and has presented throughout Latin America, South Africa, Europe, and the United States. Judith Morrison holds a Master’s degree in economic development and regional planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she received a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship in Public Policy and International Affairs and the Carroll Wilson Award for International Research. 

Rani Pooran joined IFC in June 2021 as the organization’s first DEI Program Lead. Ms. Pooran is committed to building a future in which all people can enjoy their rights and freedoms in a more sustainable and inclusive world. With 15+ years of experience in global roles, Ms. Pooran has managed cross-functional strategic and regulatory programs, while partnering with some of the world's most high-profile not-for-profit and international organizations. Ms. Pooran is charged with creating a bold, multi-year strategy that helps IFC meet its DEI goals using a robust mix of project management, communications, and data and analytics to keep transparency and accountability high with leaders and staff. 

Abigail Turner is an Associate Director, Outreach and Engagement at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. She holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and National Security Studies from Georgetown University (2020 - 2021). Abigail has extensive experience, including roles at the U.S. Department of State and the Foreign Service Institute. At the Department of State, she served as a Communications Specialist, contributing to global U.S. foreign assistance topics, including the response to COVID-19. Abigail's skills include press, social media, and messaging expertise. She has a robust skill set, including proficiency in Facebook, Event Planning, Microsoft Office, and Teamwork. Abigail's career also includes roles at the Foreign Service Institute, Senator Susan M Collins' office, and Bowdoin College. With her diverse background, Abigail brings valuable insights and organizational skills to her current role, making her a valuable asset at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation.
