DC | International Principles on Responsible AI
Thursday, May 25, 2023, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM EDT
Category: Events

In the age of monumental new technologies emerging daily, many governments and organizations alike are now questioning what guidelines and frameworks should be implemented to maintain responsibility vis-à-vis artificial intelligence. What role should international principles play in shaping the development and use of AI technologies? How will these principles become standardized, and what challenges do governments, nonprofits, and cooperations face when implementing them?

Join us at the Microsoft Innovation and Policy Center on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm to discuss these questions and more. With opening remarks from Kristi Rogers, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Principal to Principal and Co-Chair of the Women's Foreign Policy Group Board of Directors, International Principles on Responsible AI will feature Jennifer Bachus, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy at the U.S. Department of State; Natasha Crampton, Chief Responsible AI Officer at Microsoft; and the Hon. Michelle S. Giuda, Director of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy. The conversation will be moderated by Cat Zakrzewski, Technology Policy Reporter at The Washington Post. Closing remarks from Lloyd Whitman, Senior Director of the GeoTech Center at the Atlantic Council, will conclude the program.

This event is co-organized by Women's Foreign Policy Group and Microsoft, in partnership with the Atlantic Council GeoTech Center and the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy.
