WFPG’s Celebrating Women Leaders Luncheons are held annually in Washington, DC to highlight the achievements of some of the most prominent policy-makers and thought leaders shaping the world today. Honorees are recognized for their extraordinary leadership in foreign affairs and national security, as well as for their roles as trailblazers and role models for aspiring women leaders. Speakers have included key US officials including secretaries of state, top national security leaders, and senators, as well as heads of UN agencies.WFPG is pleased to announce that this year's Celebrating Women Leaders Luncheon will feature a conversation with Ambassador Katherine Tai, the 19th United States Trade Representative. Ambassador Katherine Tai was sworn in as the 19th United States Trade Representative on March 18, 2021. As a member of the President’s Cabinet, Ambassador Tai is the principal trade advisor, negotiator, and spokesperson on U.S. trade policy. Moderated by:
Elisabeth Bumiller is Washington Bureau Chief of The New York Times. Previously she was The Times' Washington Editor and Deputy Washington Bureau Chief. Before that she covered the Pentagon, the White House, John McCain's 2008 campaign and New York's City Hall for The Times. She also worked for The Washington Post in Washington, New Delhi, Tokyo and New York. In 2006 and 2007, Bumiller was a public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center and a Transatlantic Fellow at the German Marshall Fund.
