NGO, Non-Profit and Government Career Forum
Co-sponsored with NYU, GW, UPenn and Brandeis

Washington, DC—On December 6, 2013, WFPG co-sponsored a Non-Profit and Government Career Expo with George Washington University, New York University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Brandeis University. The Expo provided students the opportunity to explore internships and jobs with representatives of government agencies and non-profit organizations. The event also included opening remarks by Ambassador Barbara Stephenson, Dean of the Leadership and Management School, Foreign Service Institute, as well as a panel on careers in international affairs with Stephenie Foster of the Department of State’s Office of Global Women's Issues, Dara McLeod of Refugees International, Will Davis of UNDP, and moderator Patricia Ellis of the WFPG. The panelists discussed their educational, and career experience and backgrounds, their career pathways, and offered advice on skills, internships, how to get started, and what might make one stand out to students who were interested in launching careers in the field of international affairs. They also addressed issues of work life balance.
