Washington, DC—On November 26, 2006, the Women’s Foreign Policy Group held its first DC Celebration of Women Diplomats hosted by WFPG Board Chair Maxine Isaacs. The program honored the achievements of women ambassadors and deputy chiefs of mission to the United States including the ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Singapore, and South Africa, as well as former US Ambassadors to Djibouti, Nepal, and the Netherlands. To open the event, Ambassador Anne Patterson gave brief remarks on the importance on recognizing the achievements of women in foreign policy and uplifting women around the world.
