Book Club — "Outspoken: My Fight for Freedom and Human Rights in Afghanistan"
Tuesday, October 21, 2025, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM EST
Category: Events

Please join the Women's Foreign Policy Group on Tuesday, October 21st, from 5:30 – 7:00 PM for the next session of our WFPG Book Club! We’ll dive into Outspoken: My Fight for Freedom and Human Rights in Afghanistan, a memoir by Dr. Sima Samar. Applying her background as a doctor, Samar provided medical care to communities in rural Afghanistan, which exposed her to the vast inequality throughout the country. As Vice President and the first Minister of Women's Affairs of the Afghanistan Interim Administration in 2001, Samar defied the odds, dedicating her life to equality and justice for all Afghans. Since leaving her home country in 2021, Samar continues to advocate for human rights around the world.

Enjoy a relaxed evening alongside WFPG members with guided discussion and meaningful conversation. Order your copy of Outspoken: My Fight for Freedom and Human Rights in Afghanistan now!
